Cardinal Detecto is the combination of Cardinal Scale and Detecto Scale. Detecto scale was formed in 1900 and specialized in food service scales while Cardinal Scale was established in 1950 and focused primarily on industrial products. In 1981 Cardinal Scale acquired Detecto Scale combining the product lines which was at this time much more expanded. Now the company focused primarily on baker dough scales, butcher scales, doctor scales, hanging scales, food portioning scales, and a variety of industrial scales. Years later they began to focus on liquid filling and in motion checkweighing scales. Currently, they continue to focus on modernizing and growing these past product lines along with truck scales and US manufactured load cells. They are even registered with the Food & Drug Administration as a medical device manufacturer and ISO 9001:2008, ISO 13485:2012, and VCAP certified.
